Kellen Cowing is an Ellsworth native and a Certified Personal Trainer. Kellen is very unique, in that he has the perspective and understanding of someone who has struggled with weight issues. As someone who didn’t discover athletics and fitness until his adult years, he spent his childhood and a large part of his adulthood overweight, sedentary, and ultimately unhappy with his life. Deciding to make a change, he discovered Crossfit in 2011 and quickly fell in love. With its focus on technique, consistency, and community, he found a method of integrating fitness and wellness into his life that was not only effective but fun. With discipline and consistency, he achieved a weight loss of over 150 pounds from his heaviest weight, all while increasing strength, agility, and confidence. Deciding to start paying it forward, he received his L1 Certification to help guide and motivate people like him on their own fitness journeys. While he may not practice the Crossfit method any longer, the core tenets have stuck with him. He's able to integrate them into personalized, one-on-one training, with an emphasis on technique and scalability for all ability levels. With a scientific, evidence-based approach, Kellen looks forward to helping clients large and small achieve their fitness and weight loss goals.
